A broadside advertisement for a slave auction to be held "at the tavern of Wm. K. Newnam, in the Town of Cumberland": "One Negro Woman, about 40 years old, on a credit of twelve months . . . . At the same time and place, will be hired Seven Slaves, viz: 2 Man, 3 Boys, and 2 Girls." Jacob Fechtig (1802-1851) was named as the guardian ordering the same. The printer Samuel Charles was publishing a newspaper in Cumberland, MD at this time. No other examples traced in OCLC or at auction.
