Additional Details

An anti-slavery chapbook, with an exceptionally graphic engraving of a slave being whipped by two other slaves. While many of the chapbooks of this period were loosely based on real events, this little reduction of the two volume Stedman "Narrative" is quite faithful to Stedman's Narrative and his description of the cruelties of the Surinam slave plantation owners.
