Additional Details

very rare middle passage shackles made to be put on a young child, attesting to the soulless cruelty of the atlantic slave trade. It is hard to imagine how someone could be involved in such monstrous traffic in human beings, and still be family men, politicians, bankers and members of "polite society." Yet engravings of the manner in which people were transported across the Atlantic, such as that of the slave ship Brookes confirm it.
