Additional Details

a very good example of a rare carte-de-visite. Helen Ann Windman Walker and Henry Sedam Walker were 'twin brother and sister, offspring of colored parents 8 years of age on the 2 of May 1864.' They were 'exhibited' at Burnell and Prescott's Museum. In St Louis. This was the age of master showman P.T. Barnum and museums like his New York establishment sprang up around the country. So-called 'freaks' like the albino girl were a major draw.
