Additional Details

The titled sketch looks out on Cape Town Harbor and is keyed with several locations in English: Chavonne Battery, Amsterdam Battery, Burying Ground, Rogge Bay Battery, West End of Cape Town, The Wharf, Road to Stellenbosch, and Part of the Lion's Rump.

Our lovely little untitled drawing depicts the agrarian village of Stellenbosch in the mountains of the Western Cape, dotted with the dark-roofed whitewashed long buildings associated with early Dutch colonialism in the region.
