Most likely from the estate of Major-General James Houlbrooke Drummond, who commanded the 122nd Rajputana Infantry and was stationed at Satara. An important historical document of the region, the album includes images of maritime scenes, the 22nd Regiment of Bombay Native Infantry, traditional Asian transport, cultural and religious communities, British and Ceylon officials, and local chiefs headmen.
