a very nice copy of an extremely rare negro leagues item. The front cover features a photo of pitcher Spoon Carter winding up for a pitch. Superimposed behind him is a photo of a Negro soldier winding up to toss a grenade. This wartime magazine features an article giving the chronological history of the Negro Leagues, a feature on 'East West Game History,' 'Is Senator Chandler Just Talking? 'Grays Win 1944 World Championship,' and much more. As far as we could determine, 1944 was the only year the 'Pictorial Yearbook' was produced. OCLC locates only one copy at the Denver Public Library.
