The Black American Racers Association was formed in 1972 "to publicize the all-but-forgotten Black racing community to the American public, to interest minority youth in racing-oriented careers, and to increase Black spectator interest in motor-sports." They remained active through 1978. This glossy and well-illustrated publication includes numerous in-depth profiles of racing stars such as Wendell Scott, an historical essay by founder Leonard W.
