While many notable players came out of Somerville, MA, including Hall of Famers Tim Keefe and Pie Traynor, we have not identified any of these players. As the players seem to be adults and have two managers in street clothing, we suspect they were at least semi-professional. Most of them wear badges, probably in honor of a local championship. Two Spalding bats lie in the foreground. The equipment and uniforms suggest the late 1880s or early 1890s; the same backstamp has been traced to another photograph dated 1893.
