Additional Details

Barrs Field or the Myrtle Avenue Ball Park was built in Jacksonville's predominantly African-American Durkeeville neighborhood in 1912. Among their early tenants was the all-black Jacksonville Athletics team. These men in "U.S." uniforms may have been the Athletics or a rival club. The second player from the left is the consignor's grandfather Clarence Sylvester Williams.
