This photograph would seem to be from a high-level minor league team from the late 1890s. A "Louisville Slugger" stamp can be seen on the bat in the center foreground; the name came into use in 1894. The presence of only eleven uniformed players suggests a date not long after that. The "WB" on the hats and shirts suggests Wilkes-Barre Coal Barons, which played in the Eastern and then Atlantic Leagues from 1893 to 1900.
