The Yacht Dauntless of N.Y. 268 Tons, Owned and Commanded by Vice Commodore Jas. G. Bennett Jr. Yacht Sappho of N.Y. 310 Tons, Owned and Commanded by W.P. Douglas Esq., Rear Commodore, N.Y. Yacht Club. The Dauntless is depicted breaking the trans-Atlantic speed record upon its arrival in Ireland. Sappho raced for the New York Yacht Club from 1868 to 1876, winning the America's Cup in 1871.
