A selection of approximately 44 press photographs of crowds. 1912-55.
A dynamic group of images spanning the first half of the 20th century, including images of people gathering to view the Graf Zeppelin, for Armistice Day, egg rolling at the White House, and other celebrations, as well as shopping and sporting events, and rallies and political gatherings. Most appear to be American, but the group does include some European cities; the collection is primarily focused on the 1920s and 1940s. Silver press prints, the images measuring 6½x7½ to 7½x9½ inches (16.5x19.1 to 19.1x24.1 cm.), and the reverse, one sheet slightly larger, with a combination of press stamps, date stamps, caption labels, and/or notations on verso.
