This unusual series of images, which shows a group of young Caucasian and Arab women being evaluated by a potential buyer, appears to have been photographed out-of-doors given the radiant natural light bathing the subjects. However, the foreground depicts a wooden floor (or platform) that is covered by an Oriental carpet, indicating the sequence of photographs may be a "tableau vivant. "
