Additional Details

An early transcript of what folk music pioneer John Lomax called "the first important ballad of the far West." The lyrics as recorded here are slightly different than published versions; the song is more popularly known as "Come All You Texas Rangers." It was believed to originate in the 1830s, and is still frequently performed today.
