first edition of Holley's second book, intended as an emigrant's guide and rushed into press to describe the final events of the Texas Revolution. The first account in book form of the Battle of San Jacinto, and first appearance in book form of the Texas Declaration of Independence and Constitution. Holley was an active advocate for Texan independence, and a cousin of Stephen Austin, who provided some assistance to the project.
