(TEXAS.) Koch, Augustus. Bird's Eye View of the City of Houston, Texas. Blueprint for a birds-eye view of the town, 23x29 3/4 inches sheet size; tear in lower left quadrant with no apparent loss and repairable, scattered browning and foxing; entirely mounted to a stiff board. Cira 1873

Additional Details

Curious survival of Texas interest. This lithograph appears to be an early state of a birds-eye view executed by Koch and published by J.J. Stoner in Madison, WI. Reps, Views and Viewmakers 3978. The print has been trimmed on the left and right sides with a loss of about 1/2 inch of the image. The vertical portion of the image is intact and with a large margin on top. When issued the print would have undergone successive prints with various stones or been hand-colored. If this is not a early state it is potentially a printer's proof. sold as is.
