Typed Document Signed, as Conservative Party Chairman, declaring that Thatcher had been elected Leader of the Conservative Party in Parliament: "The conditions of the procedure having been fulfilled, Margaret Thatcher is elected," where Thatcher's name is written in Du Cann's hand; also in his hand are the vote tallies written beside each candidate's name.
