Additional Details

A little-known privately printed travel memoir by a British newspaper editor, with only 11 copies in OCLC. Ackrill describes New York, Washington, Niagara Falls, Albany, Boston, and various points in between. This copy is extra-illustrated with a portrait photograph (presumably of Ackrill) and 18 well-executed watercolors by Charles Henry Knowles, one of the traveling party, as explained by Knowles's grand-niece on a blank page. Not in Howes, Dow's Niagara, or TPL.
