"Holiday Abroad, Volumes I and II." Together, 2 scrapbooks with photographs and loads of ephemera depicting" An American Family's Holiday Trip" to Europe, from December 13, 1954 to January 18, 1955. Compiled and arranged by Kathryn Meyer, the trip took her family from Chicago to Amsterdam, Dusseldorf and Cologne, Germany; Zurich and St. Moritz, Switzerland; Ayr, Scotland; and Hamburg, Germany;; London is also depicted in fine detail. With approximately 200 original photographs and more than 300 ephemeral items, including airline memorabilia, greeting cards, multi-page typewritten diaristic entries that introduce a new travel destination, each with a cartoon illustration; postcards; newspaper clippings; maps; menus; beer coasters; telegrams; and more. Silver prints, each measures about 3x4 1/2 inches (7.6x11.4 cm.), and the reverse. Oblong folios, leatherette, contents generally near fine; ties. 1954-55
