Just a few months before embarking on this trip, Beatrice Libenow Livingstone (1887-1981) had married naval lieutenant William Gaylord Livingstone. She chronicles her travels aboard the USS Chaumont from Annapolis, Maryland to places such as Panama, California, Hawaii, Guam, Manila, and Shanghai. The volume contains additional photos and ephemera from Peking and Kyoto.
