Additional Details

The first trip, comprising almost half the volume, shows two young men traveling in a massive spiral covering Ohio, Gettysburg, the District of Columbia, Plymouth, MA, Niagara Falls, Minnesota, South Dakota, Glacier National Park, Oregon, San Francisco, the Mojave Desert, a Hopi Indian performance at the Grand Canyon, Zion National Park, Yellowstone, and Deadwood. The trip began on 1 July 1930, and could hardly have ended long before the next trip begins on 4 July 1931, from the Lincoln birthplace in Kentucky to St. Augustine, FL, Key West, New Orleans, the Alamo, New Mexico, and Colorado. The final journey is less ambitious, with numerous images of Traverse City, MI, including the annual Cherry Festival, and other scenes in nearby northern Michigan. We've been unable to identify these young men, but they would seem likely to hail from near Traverse City.
