Additional Details

early student works by tschichold. Tschichold was only 17 and in his first year at the Staatliche Akademie für graphische Künste und Buchgewerbe when he designed and calligraphed these handsome facsimiles which were then printed by lithography. His classical Gothic style here shows his commitment to traditional German letterforms. The works constituted the seventh and eleventh books in the Palatino series edited by H. Wieynck.
