Additional Details

The thermoplastic whole-plate case depicting "The Landing of Columbus" was after a painting by John Vanderlyn (Berg 1-1; Krainik 1). The highlight cases reproduced in Krainik's Union Cases: A Collector's Guide to the Art of America's First Plastics are Numbers 4, 10, 17, 18, and 44.

10 half-plates (a daguerreotype of a group of women; a double ambrotype portrait of a couple; ambrotypes of an outdoor scene of a house, a young boy, a family, and a woman; and a tintype an older gentleman);

13 sixth-plates (one with an ambrotype of a child);
