The United Fruit ship "Quirigua" was taken into service during World War II by the U. S. Government. Immediately after the war, the War Shipping Administration requested the reknowned naval architectural firm of George G. Sharp to "Survey the S. S. 'Quirigua' of 6982 tons, gross register tonnage afloat and on dry dock for restoring the vessel to the same condition as when taken under charter by the War Shipping Administration." This is the report of George Sharp.
George G. Sharp is best known as the designer of the atomic N. S. "Savannah."
