From 1952 until the end of June 1964 the "Washington" was a part of the Hudson River Reserve Fleet. She was sold in 1964 and scrapped in 1965. This name board was probably removed shortly before her ownership was transferred to Union Minerals & Alloys Corp. in 1964.
