Additional Details

An important proclamation by the United Provinces, relieving Jose Artigas of his duties, branding him an enemy, and offering a bounty of 6000 pesos for his capture dead or alive. Artigas had acted independently as the head of a band of gauchos during the revolution against Spain, causing Posadas to issue this edict. Artigas survived this warrant and soon became the first leader of independent Uruguay. One copy in WorldCat, none known to be sold at auction.
