Jericho, in Vermont's northern Chittenden County, was chartered in 1763. In 1802, a heavy tax was levied on the original proprietors, with property to be sold to make up the difference for those unable to pay. This volume lists 67 proprietors and the disposition of each one's property: tax paid and/or land sold, with details on the purchasers. Also included are manuscript copies of the official notices by collector John Johnson and town clerk Lewis Chaplin.
