Additional Details

Charming and curious work comprising the plates and a title-page featuring a weathervane with four "winged winds" exerting their forces, with an epigram by Milton beneath. The lithographs, by various hands identified by initials only, feature images of particular aspects of wind, often in the form of a pun. The plates were executed by someone with the intials of C.A.S. and are printed within rectangular borders of 4¾x3¾ or smaller.<
