William Frank Carver (1851-1927) went west as a dentist in 1872, but soon established himself as one of the great frontier marksmen. He went on a tour of Europe in 1879, including a residency at London's Crystal Palace. In 1883 he partnered with Buffalo Bill Cody in an early version of Buffalo Bill's Wild West show.
