Austin Manhattan Consolidated owned a large number of mines centered in the Austin, NV area. They solicited these letters of support to attract investment, and apparently had their supporters produce multiple copies on letterhead, with stamped signatures to allow for ease of reproduction while still looking like unique originals. They are written by mining experts, former employees, and prominent citizens of Austin.
