Specially-printed titles, 83 plates (almost all of which are hand-colored aquatints), and extra-illustrated with 695 additional plates, comprising trimmed and inlaid 16th-through-19th-century prints (and a few watercolors and ephemera), including 413 portraits and 256 views. 2 volumes extended to 4 volumes. 4to, 330x255 mm, later 19th century 1/2 red morocco by R. W. Smith; internally clean but for some offsetting. Bookplates of David McNeely Stauffer on front pastedowns; ex-library with associated bookplates and ink stamps at the beginning of each volume.
