first edition. A gripping story of a mutiny aboard a whaling ship in the Pacific Ocean. Several of the surviving crew members landed on what is now known as the Mili Atoll in the Marshall Islands, where most of them variously killed each other, were executed by islanders, or escaped. Lay and Hussey, the last two whalers, lived for two years among the islanders until their rescue by the United States Navy. Howes L158, Sabin 39467.
