Most issues are from Connecticut, Massachusetts, upstate New York, Pennsylvania, and Washington, DC, with a few from Rhode Island and Vermont, plus a 1780 New-Jersey Gazette and a 1848 issue of the English-language Neighbour from Valparaiso, Chile. Some include first printings of long articles on whaling, such as "Observations on the Whale-Fishery and Seal-Catching" in the Gazette of the United States of 27 November 1790.
