This drawing is titled "Charles & Edward," and comes from the same collection as an archive from a ship by the same name (see Swann sale, 25 September 1997, lots 75-77). The Charles & Edward made its final voyage out of Dartmouth in September 1860, and was sold in Chile in 1865.
