Additional Details

The bark Louisa left New Bedford under the command of Martin Millard on 11 August 1874 to whale the Atlantic for her owners Swift & Allen. She returned on 3 May 1878. The manifest reports 200 barrels of sperm oil and 700 barrels of whale oil. The inward foreign entry document is signed on the verso by Jireh Swift. Whaling Masters, page 202.
