(WOLRD WAR II--FLIGHT)
Album with 44 photographs apparently made by a WWII military skydiver, including several beautifully-abstract images of airplane contrails, images of planes in flight, elegant snapshots made in the air of jumpers and parachutes, the Earth from above, and cute antics on the ground. Inclues a folded mailed card with a photo booth portrait of the apparent maker of the album, dressed in his full military uniform, and post-marked 1942. Silver prints, sizes ranging from approximately 1 1/2x2 1/2 to 6 1/2x4 1/2 inches (3.8x6.4 to 16.5x11.4 cm.), and the reverse, one with notations, in ink, on recto; artfully mounted in black photo corners. Oblong 4to, a real zebra cover with a leather backstrip and snap enclosure, as well as a twin-tied binding with tassels and zebra embellishments; leather pastedowns; original tissue guards. 1940s
