Additional Details

This banner was created for the Order's chapter in the western Pennsylvania city of Braddock, styled "Gen. G.A. Nevels Court, No. 184." The organization was a fraternal benefit society offering a social network and insurance to their members; they wore fez hats. Their namesake Augustus A. Nevels (1868-1924) had served as a lieutenant in the Spanish-American War before settling in Braddock, and holding the office of general in the Knights of Pythias. The order's motto, "Fidelity, Harmony, and Love," is prominently featured. Braddock is best known today as the home of Senator John Fetterman.
