Silver prints and a half-tone reproduction (one), the images measuring 4 1/2x4 1/4 to 9 1/2x7 5/8 inches (11.4x10.8 to 21.9x19.4 cm.), and the reverse, the sheets 8 1/2x11 inches (21.6x27.9 cm.), and smaller, a few with captions in the negative, most with typed captions, stamps, and other notations, on verso. 1940s; a few printed 1970s

WITH--A group of 35 artfully retouched WWII press photographs. With depictions of Adolf Hitler in effigy (and a caricature portrait made of vegetables); Mussolini; a number of photographs showing American servicemen relaxing; and military photographs from the European and Asian theaters of war. Ferrotyped silver prints, the images measuring 4 3/4x6 3/4 to 6 1/2x10 1/2 inches (12.1x17.1 to 16.5x26.7 cm.), and the reverse, the sheets slightly larger, all with period retouching and hand painting, on recto, and most with typed press captions, handwritten notations, and various press agency hand stamps, on verso. 1930s-40s.
