Subtitle of the image is "Public Test of Cyrus McCormick's Invention: Steele's Tavern, Virginia, July 1831. Commissioned by International Harvester Co. in commemoration of the 100th anniversary of the McCormick Reaper, which had signaled the beginning of the emancipation of the American farmer.
