one of only 35 copies on japan paper containing the suite, from a total edition of 955. Zworkine (also spelled Zworkin or Zvorkin) was one of the founders of modern Russian book illustration with a decorative style and mastery of ornament similar to Bilibin and Shukhaev. He left Russia for Paris in 1921 where he began his association with the great art book publisher, Piazza.
