Additional Details

The handsomely laid out booklet offers beauty tips, proclaims Walker's Indianapolis factory "this great new building by and for our people," gives horoscope information and household hints, and concludes with President Coolidge's 1927 remarks on the "wonderful progress of the colored race." The rear wrapper assures that Walker's products were "made exclusively for and by the people of our race." We find no other examples of this fascinating pamphlet on OCLC or at auction.
The accompanying matchbook proclaims Walker "The greatest benefactress of her race" and her products "the pathway to beauty and success"; her portrait and her Indianapolis factory are illustrated.
