Additional Details

The fine painting is of a Tyrolean peasant couple seated on a wooden bench. The man plays a zither while his companion knits. The painting can be viewed either recto or verso without losing of a bit of detail due to the translucent nature of the medium. This delicate genre, designed to be sold to tourists, is understandably ephemeral and examples in nice condition rarely survive.
