A small archive of approximately 60 photographs documenting operations at the Panama Canal.


The photographs documenting labor and construction at the docks of the Panama Canal. Silver prints, the images measuring approximately 7x9 1/4 inches (17.8x23.5 cm.), and slightly smaller, and the reverse, three 3 1/4x4 1/2 inches (8.2x11.4 cm.), the sheets slightly larger, nearly all with a technical caption either typed or in the negative, many including a date, on recto or verso. 1936-38

WITH--Four pieces of ephemera. Including a paper titled "Native Lumber" presented to the Engineer's Club of the Canal Zone in 1919; a commemorative pamphlet titled "A History of the Panama Canal," 1939; a pamphlet detailing an expansion project called "The Third Locks Project," 1941; and a publication titled Safety Zone from 1943 (documenting accident rates and "The Hit Parade:" workers who have gone a year or more without an accident).
