Aéropostale was originally named Lignes Aeriennes Latécoere after its founder and airplane manufacturer, Pierre G. Latécoere. His first flight between Paris and Morocco was in 1919. The company assumed the name Aéropostale in 1927, and they initiated their Paris, Bordeaux and Biarritz route in July, 1928. Cassandre depicts a Latecoere 28 coming out of the sky like a cloud itself. Mouron / Cassandre 95, p. 63, Reina Sophia p. 169.
