Aéropostale was originally named Lignes Aériennes Latécoere after its founder and airplane manufacturer, Pierre G. Latécoere. His first flight between Paris and Morocco was in 1919. The company assumed the name Aéropostale in 1927, and they initiated their Paris, Bordeaux and Biarritz route in July, 1928. Cassandre depicts a Latécoere 28 slicing through the sky like an extension of the clouds around it. Mouron 95, p. 63, Reina Sophia p. 169, Tokyo 32, Suntory 56, Aviation p. 112.
