This Martha's Vineyard landscape is an unusual find. We believe this to be the first time this extremely rare print has come to auction. After receiving a Carnegie Foundation grant, Douglas was able to travel and paint up the East Coast in the summer of 1951 - including a visit to Martha's Vineyard. Earle p. 220.
