Condition B+ / B: expertly repaired tears, overpainting and restoration in margins and image. Most of the few Art Deco-inspired posters that Brunyer has to his credit derive some aspect of their imagery from posters designed by other artists. In an exceptional image for Paris-Soir Brunyer mimics the perspective Cassandre used for the trees along the side of the road in his poster for La Route Bleue. Here, promoting the need for fresh and abundant running water in the home, he takes his own design road. Placing the image on an alluring diagonal, employing appropriate colors and using neat, solid sans-serif typography he creates an appealing, modernist call for the most practical of all amenities.
