ADAMS, JOHN QUINCY. Printed Letter Signed, "J.Q. Adams," as Secretary of State, with 9 lines in holograph, to Messrs Ide & Aldrich, editors of the Vermont Republican, Windsor, VT: "Your newspaper has been selected as one among the number designated for publishing the Acts, Resolutions, Treaties, &c. which may be approved and ratified during the Second Session of the Fifteenth Congress" and setting forth conditions of publication. Written in holograph between two printed lines noting that publishers are expected to send copies of their newspapers: "without additional charge, however, on that account." The holograph postscript, referring the recipients to obligations specified in an act of Congress. 1 page, 4to; faint dampstaining at upper and lower left edge, small holes at upper horizontal fold with minor loss to printed text, three edges unevenly trimmed.
