In 1923, having created a graphic revolution with his poster for Au Bucheron, the 22 year old Cassandre entered into a period where he began toying with different typography and experimenting with how to organize space geometrically. These early images are so geometrically precise it seems as if they were designed with a compass and a ruler. This poster is a perfect example of how he could build a clear, strong image using a simple drawing and well-balanced colors. An interesting and rare early work.
